Welcome to Third Grade!!!
Hello Everyone! I am Mrs. Jones and my goal is to make learning fun for students. During this year, students will study a variety of topics. In Communication Arts, they will improve their reading skills and learn a variety of strategies to help them during their reading. They will also develop their writing and broaden their vocabulary. In math, they will learn several new strategies they can use to help them in their development of their mathematic skills as well as new concepts throughout the year. Science and social studies will bring exciting new topics as well.
In order to achieve all the learning objectives throughout the year, I will use technology as well as additional resources. They will have to do research on a particular topic as well as type their information. Students will also be required to make several creative projects.
Students will have homework most nights. This homework will include a math page, AR reading, and any additional work they did not finish during the day. Occasionaly, students will receive an extra page due to the topic being more difficult for students to master or for reinforcement of previously learned skills. These will contain a limited number of problems and should ideally take no more than 30 minutes. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Together we can make this a great year!
